Year 10 Electives

Course Description

This three-period course is a subject for food lovers. Students will design their recipes or use pre-planned ones to create delicious plates that they then consume and share with others.

Students will work on individual and group tasks to create many different items. New cuisines will be constructed, and there will be an opportunity to try different foods and flavours that might not have been experienced before.

Students will be taught valuable life skills and techniques that are transferrable outside of school.

This course is divided into two units of study, and the concept of the course is to educate students about the food they consume and its effects on their bodies. Students will look at popular sports foods, superfoods and diseases caused by food.
