Parent Information Booklet

Date: Friday, 3 November 2023

Student Orientation Commences: 8.25 am

Students will be welcomed by senior staff members and current students.

Student Orientation Concludes: 3.00pm

Optional Parent Q&A ‘Pop-in’ Session:  2.15pm - 3.00pm

Location: Gymnasium

During this optional informal meeting, parents and guardians will be welcomed by Principal Mr Vince Bellini and Head of Year 7 Mrs Sharon Millington. There will be the opportunity to meet with selected staff (Enrolments, Finance, Pastoral Care and Learning Support) and ask questions relating to the commencement of the year, or other pastoral or curriculum-based matters. All students will be provided with a printed comprehensive orientation booklet, which they will be able to share with their parents.

Parents and Guardians are asked to arrange transport for their child to and from the College. We prefer that students do not travel by bus; however, if this is unavoidable, please make sure that you contact the bus service provider prior to Orientation Day.

Students will be escorted by staff and current students from the drop-off/pick-up to the Gymnasium.

During the day, the students will;
• Be welcomed by senior staff and students

• Meet future students from other schools

• Have a tour of the College

• Participate in selected classes with current students

• Engage in friendly sporting competitions

• Leave the College with an increased sense of positivity and confidence about next year

Students are to wear their Primary School Sports Uniform, including runners, school hats and sunscreen. Students are asked to bring lunch, a water bottle and a pencil case and a school bag to carry all their belongings. Please ensure all belongings, including their drink bottles, are clearly marked.

Students will be supplied with morning tea by the current Year 7 cohort, and the College will provide students with a juice box. If your child has any allergies, please be sure to include this specific information in the forms below and please have your child bring their own morning tea (dependent on the allergy).

We encourage students to leave their mobile devices at home. Alternatively, it can be left switched off in their bag. Please note that the College can not be held responsible for damage and or loss of personal items.

In preparation for Orientation Day, your assistance is required in completing the below forms for your child. Please complete and return these forms by 3.00pm Friday, 6 October 2023.

1. Please complete the Year 7 2024 Orientation Day and Language Selection Form.

This form has now been closed.  Please contact us by phone if you would like to make any changes to your submission.

Year 7 2024 Orientation Day and Language Selection Form

To assist us with our timetabling requirements, students are required to select a language for 2024. Places will be allocated on a first-come basis. Please discuss your child’s language choice with them, and ensure they choose their language carefully. Once an allocation of a language has been made, students are committed to the course for both Years 7 and 8 and they will not be able to change their language course. The College will contact you if it is deemed that your child will be placed in a literacy course rather than a language course.

The Language selection is part of the Year 7 Orientation Day Form, found above.

You will be notified of the allocated Language towards the end of Term 4, 2023.
