English: Literature

Course Description

The ATAR Literature course explores how literary texts construct representations, shape perceptions of the world and enable us to enter other worlds of the imagination. In this course, students actively participate in the dialogue of literary analysis and the creation of imaginative and analytical texts. The course focuses on the genres of poetry, prose and drama. Students learn about literary language, narrative, image and the power of representation. Students experience the aesthetic and intellectual pleasure that reading and creating literary texts can bring.

Minimum Entry Requirements

B grade in Year 10 General English OR B grade in Year 10 Extension English
