Our Lady of Mercy College Wins Philosothon Cup Five Years in a Row

On Wednesday, 26 October 2022, some very inquisitive Year 7 and Year 9 students made the trip down to Busselton to compete in the Philosothon competition at Georgiana Molloy Anglican School.

The format had the students speak about five different speaking prompts in aged-grouped open forums.

Led by the great Mr McKenzie and supported by Mr Smith, the students represented the College with great pride and won the competition for the fifth year in a row.

The team comprised of the students below: Rachel Conway-Physic (received Best Overall Philosopher and won the Year 11 category, she is in Year 9)

Keeley Stevens (won the Year 10 category, but is a Year 9 student)

Leela Baird

Rachel Cronin

Samuel Harvey

Joshua Peters (placed in Year 8, but is a Year 7 student)

Congratulations to all students involved.

Mr McKenzie and Mr Smith look forward to growing the profile of philosophy in the future.
