This elective focuses on developing painting skills and techniques to produce a resolved artwork. You will explore a variety of drawing and design approaches to create imaginative compositions, while building an understanding of colour relationships and pattern. Inspiration will be drawn from contemporary Australian and international artists, with animals and pets as your central subject matter. You will also extend your knowledge of the elements and principles of art and design, analysing how artists use these to communicate meaning. In addition, you will investigate how time and place shape artists and their practices.
