Year 9 students at Our Lady of Mercy College are rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty in a new elective focused on Conservation and Rehabilitation.

The program, launched this semester, gives students the opportunity to actively restore bushland around the College, through native plant planting and weeding.

Students are learning about local native plants and the impact of feral animals, with guidance from guest environmental experts.

Funds raised through the collection of recycled cans via the Containers for Change program were used to purchase the native plants from Leschenault Community Nursery.
