In the first week of Term 2, our Year 7 students participated in their annual Retreat.
They visited the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery (BRAG), a significant historical site for our College. Originally a convent and school run by the Mercy Sisters, BRAG provided a unique opportunity for students to delve into the history of their House Patrons and gain a glimpse of what life was like when the sisters lived and worked in Bunbury.
Additionally, the students explored St. Patrick's Cathedral, where they learnt more about Mass and the interior of the Cathedral, including the 14 large stained-glass windows, designed by the Australian artist Robert Juniper.
One day was spent at the College, where students completed a Character Strengths Quiz and participated in team-building games, all designed to help them recognise their unique qualities and those of others.
The Retreat was a valuable experience that strengthened our students' connection to the Mercy history.
