This week, our Year 12 ATAR Biology and Human Biology students had an incredible learning experience at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research in Perth.
During the excursion, students engaged in hands-on activities such as DNA amplification through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and DNA sample analysis using gel electrophoresis.
They had the unique opportunity to work alongside PhD and master's students from UWA and received a tour of the state-of-the-art laboratories at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Here, groundbreaking biotechnology projects are underway, providing our students with a glimpse into the future of medical research.
Our students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, gaining valuable insights and inspiration for their future studies and careers in science.
