Year 10 Work Experience: What does the world of work really look like?

What does the world of work really look like? Our Year 10 students had the opportunity to find out during Work Experience Week in the final week of Term 2.

With 39 students taking part, there was a fantastic range of workplaces and industries explored, including veterinary services, education, early childhood education and care, real estate, pharmacy, automotive, hairdressing, fabrication, dental services, IT and community radio, to name just a few.

For many students, it was a chance to step into a workplace they had always been curious about. They gained practical experience, met industry professionals, built confidence and developed valuable skills such as communication, teamwork, initiative and professionalism.

These experiences also give students a better understanding of the pathways and careers available to them as they begin making decisions about their senior secondary studies.
