Following a comprehensive selection process over the past few weeks, we are pleased to announce that Mrs Maree Maughan has been appointed as Vice Principal at Our Lady of Mercy College, commencing January 2026.

Maree brings many years of experience in Catholic Education, having taught in both Primary and Secondary schools for the past 27 years. She spent 16 of those years at Bunbury Catholic College before the establishment of Our Lady of Mercy College. During this time, Maree has taught Mathematics and Religion as well as taken on a variety of leadership roles including Head of Year, Head of Learning Area (Mathematics), Head of Mercy Campus, Director of Staff and Short Term Principal.

Outside of her professional life, Maree enjoys travelling and experiencing new cultures. She has lived overseas twice, once in the United States and once in the Netherlands. Together with her husband, she has walked across England and Scotland and taken part in cycling holidays in France and Finland. Their family has also welcomed eight exchange students from seven different countries into their home, building lasting friendships and even travelling abroad to visit them.

While Maree and her family love living in Western Australia, she also believes it is important to embrace new experiences and different ways of life.

Looking ahead, Maree is excited about beginning this next chapter with the College. She shared: "I'm looking forward to the next chapter of Our Lady of Mercy College's journey with fresh perspectives, renewed energy and opportunities to realign the College’s vision and goals."

Please join us in welcoming Maree as she transitions into her new role as Vice Principal. Her knowledge, leadership and commitment to the Mercy values will help continue to guide the College community in the years ahead.
