Visual Art Students Visit the Art Gallery of Western Australia

Updated: Jun 6

Our Year 11 and Year 12 Art students recently travelled to Perth to visit the Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA).

The highlight of their visit was the West Australian Pulse 2025 exhibition. This is an annual showcase featuring the works of Year 12 Visual Arts graduates from across the state. This powerful collection provides a window into the personal, social and creative concerns of young artists, and was a great source of inspiration.

Students also viewed The Art of Peace: Art After War exhibition, a moving display of works by artists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Rwanda and Timor-Leste. The exhibition explores how art can be used to process the trauma of war and navigate life after conflict.

The excursion was both eye-opening and thought-provoking, sparking new ideas among our senior Art students.
