Tanai (Year 12) Graduates with an Offer for an Electrical Apprenticeship

Tanai Shedley graduated from Our Lady of Mercy College this year with an offer of employment to commence an Electrical Apprenticeship with Jandco Electrics.

Tanai’s journey commenced with Our Lady of Mercy College VET staff in Year 10 when he met with Mr Dale Briers to identify his areas of interest and map a career pathway. Tanai completed the Certificate II in Electrotechnology in 2021 through the Bunbury Regional Trade Training Centre and gained valuable industry experience via multiple work placements with Coastal IT, Holman Electrical, Water Corporation and Jandco Electrics.

Tanai accessed the Authority Developed Workplace Learning program in Years 11 and 12, which allowed him to develop an increasing competence in transferable employability skills. Jandco Electrics were generous with their time and resources, providing Tanai with a high level of industry experience and mentorship throughout the year. Their investment in Tanai and his demonstrated work ethic and commitment proved evident when the offer of full-time employment came in.

Our Lady of Mercy College is immensely grateful to our partnering host employers for their ongoing support to our students. We wish Tanai all the very best as he embarks on the next chapter of his life and extend our sincere thanks to Byron and the team at Jandco Electrics for providing Tanai with this opportunity.
