Service in the Mercy Way at Parish Morning Tea for Caritas

On Sunday, 30 March, students from the College hosted a fundraising morning tea for Project Compassion at Christ the Living Vine, Australind Parish.

Students and staff brought along plates of food to share. Under the supervision of Mrs Branson, students assisted with the setting up and packing away of tables and chairs, serving tea and coffee and doing the dishes. Staff mingled with parishioners after attending the liturgy.

Two of the students also assisted with Mini-Worship which provides an opportunity for young children to hear a story and complete an activity relating to the Gospel stories.

It was an amazing turn out of parishioners.

Mr Peter Williams, Diocesan Coordinator of Caritas Australia greatly appreciated the fundraising efforts of students. He commented:

“The students were just wonderful in their attitude and work ethic. Such a joy to see. The cash outcome for the day was a rewarding $372.15.”
