Purple Patch for Hayes at College Cross Country Carnival

The College Cross Country Carnival was held on Friday, 11 June. It was a succesful day with great weather and great excitement from students and staff as the students ran a new course around the College campus.

It was good to see students enjoying being physically active and representing their House. Congratulations to all of the students who challenged themselves to finish the course within the 25 minute time limit.

We had some really quick times run, with Thomas Cross running the fastest time of the day. He completed the course in 11.01. Well done Thomas!

Given we ran a new course this year, everyone who came first in their race is now a record holder. Next year, we’ll acknowledge and congratulate those students who manage to beat this year’s times. The students who placed in the top 5 for their race have been selected to compete at the Interschool Cross Country, which is being held in Week 3 of next term. More information about that Carnival will be available when we return from school holidays.

And now to announcing the winning House of the Cross Country Carnival…

The points were really close between the top 3 Houses – only 20 points separate first and third place!

It’s also interesting to note that the House with the most participation points is the House that won the Carnival. It goes to show that each individual effort makes a difference!

In 4th place, Read.

In 3rd place on 379 points, Costello.

In 2nd place on 382 points, McAuley.

And our winners on 399 points is Hayes.

Congratulations Hayes!
