SWAS Emerging Star of the Year
Congratulations to Thomas Cross (Year 12) for winning the well-deserved 2022 Emerging Star of the Year Award at the South West Academy of Sport ( SWAS) Annual Awards on Saturday, 11 February. Well done!
Busselton Jetty Swim
Congratualtions, Taya Larkman and Ella Birkinshaw (both Year 12), Brianna Birkinshaw (Year 7), Cloe McDonald (Year 8 ), Keiro Jocson (Year 8 ) and Kyle Jocson (Year 9), Jay Pfoeffer (Year 7), Mackenzie Kenny (Year 9), Riley Clements (Year 9) and Seb Duffy (Year 9) on your incredible achievement of completing the Busselton Jetty Swim recently!
Swimming the length of the iconic Busselton Jetty is no small feat.
Taya even finished 1st category in the One Mile event with an incredible time of 27.54.
Out of 146 teams, the Jocson brothers won 4th place in the Duo 3.6km swim!
You all should be incredibly proud of yourselves for this accomplishment, and we are sure that your friends and family are too. Well done!
Basketball Legends
Congratulations to Lucas Jacob (Year 8), Austin Forrest and Trent Faulkner (both Year 9) as they have been selected for the Under 16 Country State Performance Program with WA Basketball. The boys will participate in a couple of training camps before selections are made for the State team, which will compete at the Nationals.
All three boys recently played in the Under 15 Men’s Country Championships (in Championship Division) and were awarded with All Star Awards.
The Australind Basketball Association team won the Championship Division grand final against Geraldton and were undefeated in the competition. It was a thrilling display. Austin was awarded MVP for the game!
Congratulations also to Connor Schneiker (Year 9) and Tarkyn Eichner (Year 8), as they were also members of the winning ABA team.
