As NAIDOC Week falls during the school holidays, we took time in Week 2 of Term 3 to honour and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of First Nations peoples.

At the assembly, we had the privilege of welcoming Elder Nana Val and local artist Basil Hart. Nana Val spoke about the importance of First Nations art and the need to continue telling stories and passing on traditions for future generations.

The stage was decorated with artworks by Basil Hart and other talented members of our community. A special highlight was the incredible performance by the Noongar Dance Troupe ‘Nyt Yoorn’, which offered a powerful celebration of culture through dance.
