As Week 3 draws to a close, I would like to thank the members of our community who attended our inaugural community event on Tuesday night. The Wine and Cheese evening allowed for staff, parents, caregivers, and their guests to mingle and socialise in an informal and friendly environment. It allowed members of the community to “promote” their businesses, community groups, and passion projects. Thank you to those people for demonstrating the Mercy Value of Courage, putting yourself out there, and speaking in front of a reasonably large crowd.
I would like to acknowledge those staff who played a huge role in getting this event off the ground, especially Marieke Blower and Karyn Cronin. Without their support and outstanding organisational skills, this event could not have occurred. To those staff who gave generously of their time to assist with the setup, service during the evening, and packing away once everyone had left, you all exemplify the Mercy Values of Service and Hospitality. Thank you to all who assisted in making this a wonderful event, and I cannot wait for next term’s Community Event on Saturday, 9 August.
You’ll find more details about the Mercy Campus 10 Year Celebration below. We’d love your help spreading the word. Please reach out to past families, students and staff and encourage them to save the date.
On a final note, I commence long service leave on Monday, 25 May, for five weeks. Maree Maughan will take over as Short-Term Principal during my absence. I look forward to seeing everyone on my return to the College in Week 10.
