School of Rock The Musical - Next Week
If you haven’t booked your tickets for School of Rock The Musical yet, now is the time!
Our students have been working incredibly hard to bring this energetic and hilarious show to the stage, and they are ready to rock BREC. With a talented cast, live music, plenty of laughs and some seriously impressive performances, this is one school production you won’t want to miss.
Come along with the family, bring your friends and get behind our students as they take on the stage at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre. There’s nothing quite like seeing our students perform live, and we’d love to see a full house cheering them on!

Earlier this semester, Our Lady of Mercy College announced its partnership with Real Schools, an organisation that works with schools to strengthen relationships, build positive school cultures and support students to take responsibility for their actions. As a Real Schools partner, we are continuing to nurture a culture where respectful relationships, personal responsibility and care for others are central to College life. This commitment extends beyond the classroom and should be reflected in every space within our College community, including change rooms and bathrooms. Students have a right to privacy and peace of mind when using these areas.
Recently, I have observed an increase in the number of students bringing mobile phones onto the school grounds in the morning. We commenced the year with a clear expectation that mobile phones be placed in lockers upon arrival at school, reinforcing that devices are not permitted to be used during the day. There was a noticeable improvement in this area and students generally adhered to this expectation. Unfortunately, this has begun to lapse in recent weeks.
While technology plays an important role in modern life, we recognise that, in private settings, the presence of mobile phones can impact the wellbeing of others. Even when there is no intention to misuse a device, some students may feel vulnerable or anxious when phones are visible in spaces where privacy should be protected.
In response, we will continue to reinforce our expectation that mobile phones remain securely stored in lockers throughout the school day. This expectation is not simply about following school rules; it is about honouring the dignity of every member of our community and ensuring that all students feel safe, respected and free from unnecessary worry.
We are grateful for the partnership we share with families in helping young people understand the importance of empathy, respectful decision-making and consideration for others. Conversations at home about digital responsibility and personal privacy help strengthen the values we seek to live each day at Mercy.
Together, we are building a community where respect is more than an expectation; it is a lived expression of Mercy. By caring for one another and protecting each person's dignity, we create an environment where every student can confidently participate in school life, and focus on their learning, growth and wellbeing. Save Your Seat 2027
Schoolbuses have begun accepting applications for the 2027 school year. We encourage families to submit applications before 13 November 2026 to "save your seat" and support planning and allocation of services for the 2027 school year. Applications received after this date may not be processed in time for the commencement of Term 1, 2027.
*Note that families do not need to reapply if they are currently receiving transport assistance by way of bus or conveyance allowance, and there are no changes to their current circumstances. However, families will need to reapply for students transitioning from Kindy to Primary School and from Primary to High School, as this is considered a change of circumstances.

Tutorials and Homework Guidelines
The College offers a successful tutoring program for our students during school hours and after school. It is important that students access these extra classes to assist them in the areas where they are experiencing difficulties. If you have any questions regarding your child's need to attend these tutorials, please feel free to contact your child's teacher or Head of Year.

Enrolment Information
Year 7, 2027 Enrolments: The Year 7, 2027 cohort is at capacity. If you have not yet submitted an application, please call Enrolments as soon as possible to discuss availability and waitlisting options.
Year 7, 2028 Enrolments: The Year 7, 2028 cohort is at capacity. If you have not yet submitted an application, please call Enrolments as soon as possible to discuss availability and waitlisting options.
Year 7, 2029, 2030 & 2031 Enrolments: If you haven't already done so, please submit your application now.

A Message from our Finance Department

Please note that all statements are sent out monthly. If you have not received a copy of your updated statement, please contact the finance department as soon as possible.
For families who have chosen to pay their fees in three instalments, please note that the final instalment is due Wednesday 30 September.
For all other payment arrangements, a reminder that accounts must be finalised by Friday 30 October.
