Message from Principal Vince Bellini

Dear Parents and Caregivers, Although we are now five weeks into Term 2, it is important to acknowledge what has already been a full and enriching start to the term. Our ANZAC Day commemorations provided a meaningful opportunity for reflection, while the recent Parent-Teacher Conferences highlighted the strong partnerships we share in supporting each young person’s growth. These moments, together with the many activities taking place across the College, continue to remind us of the importance of connection, care and shared purpose in all that we do. Today, our Cross Country Carnival provides another valuable opportunity for students to demonstrate perseverance, participation and House spirit. While I am unable to attend due to a commitment in Perth, I know the day will reflect the enthusiasm, encouragement and camaraderie that are such important aspects of College life. Events like these not only challenge students physically, but also help foster resilience, kindness and a sense of belonging. I look forward to hearing about the day and celebrating the efforts and achievements of all involved.

There is also a growing sense of excitement as we approach our College production of School of Rock. Having seen elements of the rehearsals, I can confidently say that our cast and crew have invested an enormous amount of time and energy into bringing this production to life. Their dedication, teamwork and enthusiasm have been outstanding, and I am incredibly proud of what they are preparing to share with our community.

I warmly encourage families to come along and enjoy what promises to be a fantastic production. For tickets and more information please visit: School of Rock – Bunbury Entertainment Centre

As a College, we are deeply committed to listening to and learning from our community. Our School Climate Survey is an important opportunity for families to share their experiences and perspectives, helping to inform our ongoing growth and direction. I encourage all families to take a few moments to complete the survey using the following link: Our Lady of Mercy - School Climate Survey

Password: OLMparents

I would also like to acknowledge our Year 10 students who have recently completed their examinations. They approached this period with maturity and determination, and I commend them for their efforts.

Over the last two weeks our Year 12 General students have completed their Externally Set Tasks (EST). Over the coming fortnight, our Year 12 ATAR students, followed then by the Year 11 ATAR students, will undertake their Semester One Examinations. This is a significant period in the academic year, and I encourage all students to prepare thoughtfully by revising consistently, seeking guidance from their teachers and approaching their studies with diligence and balance. These habits not only contribute to academic success, but also help develop confidence, independence and resilience as learners.

Thank you, as always, for the many ways you contribute to the life of the College. Through our shared commitment to one another, we continue to create an environment where every student is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.

Examples of eRideables include but are not limited to:
