Our Year 11 and 12 students may have commenced their holidays, but they are still following the Mercy Way by giving to the community.
On Tuesday, 25 November, Year 11 students Thomas, Tristan and Zahara volunteered to assist with the Catholic Women's League Christmas Lunch at Christ the Living Vine. Under the guidance of teacher and Parish Pastoral Council Chair, Melissa Ryan, the students worked hard to ensure that everyone had a wonderful time.
"Our thanks go out to the students from Our Lady of Mercy, Thomas, Tristan and Zahara who gave their time wholeheartedly and worked hard all day. The event would not have runs so smoothly without them." CWL
This year, the College has focused on strengthening its connection with residents at Eden Life. Following a request from their social committee, volunteers were sought to assist in the kitchen, serve as wait staff and help with clean-up during their Christmas function on Saturday, 6 December. Year 11 students Zahara, Georgia, Bella and Bonnie generously offered their time, supported by College staff member Melissa Winters and parent Kerrie Bagetta.
"I wanted to extend a huge thank you to your students, staff member and parent who volunteered to assist with waiting duties at our Resident Christmas Party last Saturday.
The feedback was amazing! The volunteers from the College were very polite and helpful. The Christmas attire made the residents enjoy the festivity of the evening."

Earlier this week, Year 12 students Sophia, Lilli, Rachel, and Udari visited Pregnancy Assist in Bunbury, where they worked alongside coordinator Janet Mazza to assemble feeding bags. These bags were funded through donations from the College, raised during the Mercy Markets on Feast Day. The girls also prepared a video explaining the contents of the bags.
"The girls were such a delight to have there and did such a great job. Sophias little video of Lilli and Rachel packing the bags has proved very popular."
Janet Mazza, Coordinator
