From the Classroom to Construction Sites

Year 11 student Aleah is maximising her future career opportunities by studying two very different Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualifications. She is studying a Certificate III in School-Based Education Support at the Bunbury Regional Trade Training Centre and attending the Motivation Foundation training facility in Collie, where she is completing a Certificate II in Civil Construction.

The Career Services team visited Aleah in Collie and were amazed to see the fantastic skills she is developing. Aleah is learning technical and practical skills, including how to operate small plant equipment and using civil construction earthmoving machinery. She is being taught by lecturers with years of industry experience.

A big thank you to the Motivation Foundation and the Construction Training Fund for providing this opportunity for Aleah.

There are many VET options available for students in Years 11 and 12. Please contact our Career Services team to learn more.
