Taj Sims, one of the College's previous students, recently returned to Our Lady of Mercy College to work on the new Facilities shed as part of his apprenticeship with CPR Outdoor.
Taj was offered his apprenticeship via the College's Work Experience programs. He was able to learn about steel fabrication and structural assembly by working with his supervisor Jed on work experience placements. This provided Taj with a chance to explore a career path in the building and construction industry linked to carpentry.

During his work placement, Taj demonstrated his hardworking and motivated nature. When the apprenticeship came up, Taj took the opportunity to start his building and construction career. He attends the Apprentice and Traineeship Company to complete the theory components of his apprenticeship and enjoys the variety of his trade and the different projects he works on.
The College is excited to see Taj's handy work on the new Facilities shed and is proud of his accomplishments in pursuing his career goals.
