Exciting Times for Mercy Cricket
There is plenty happening in the Mercy Cricket community, and it is fantastic to see our students and staff getting involved both on and off the field.
As a WA Cricket endorsed school, we are proud to support opportunities that help our students develop their cricket skills, build confidence and connect with the wider cricket community.
Congratulations, Fletcher.
Congratulations to Fletcher (Year 8) who has been selected for the WA Cricket Pathways Squad. This is a fantastic achievement and recognition of Fletcher’s hard work and commitment to cricket. We look forward to following his progress through the Pathways program.

We would also like to congratulate Our Lady of Mercy College Education Assistant and Cricket Coach, Charles Kunje, on his recent coaching appointments.
Charles has been appointed Head Coach of the WACA South West Regional Academy Program Under-14s. He has also taken on the role of Head Senior Playing Coach at Leschenault Cricket Club for the next two seasons, beginning in 2026/27.
We are proud to have Charles bringing his experience and passion for cricket to our students and look forward to seeing what he achieves in these new roles.
Girls Got Cricket
Three of our Mercy students, Amelie (not pictured), Kaley and Evelyn, have also been busy putting their initiative into action, helping organise a local Girls Got Cricket program for girls in our community.
The eight-week program will run on Wednesdays, 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm from 21 October to 9 December. The program includes equipment, coaching and a trip to Perth to watch the WBBL.
It is fantastic to see our students taking the lead and creating opportunities for more girls to get involved in cricket.

Coming up in Term 4
There is plenty more happening in the Mercy Cricket community in Term 4.
Our first cricket camp will take place as part of the Rockingham Schools Carnival, 3–5 November, giving our students the opportunity to compete and build on the skills they have developed throughout the year.
We will also see our inaugural girls cricket team take to the field for their match against Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School.
Our students will also take on Tranby College later in the term.
With 2027 already on the horizon, trials for next year’s teams will also be held during Term 4.
It is an exciting time for Mercy Cricket, and we look forward to seeing our students continue to grow and represent the College.
