Visual Arts Technician

(0.52 FTE, Ongoing, 3 Days)


We are seeking a skilled, organised and student-focused Visual Arts Technician to support the effective operation of our Visual Arts Department.


The Role

This is a hands-on and highly valued support role, contributing to the delivery of engaging and well-prepared learning experiences across a range of visual arts disciplines.


The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining safe, organised and inspiring learning environments, supporting both staff and students in practical classroom settings.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare materials, tools and equipment for classes and student projects

  • Assist teachers and students during practical lessons where required

  • Maintain and organise workshop spaces, classrooms and storage areas

  • Clean, maintain and monitor equipment to ensure safe operation

  • Support a range of artistic processes, including woodwork, ceramics, mixed media and painting

  • Assist with emerging art technologies and contemporary practices

  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements

  • Undertake additional duties as directed by the Principal

  • A practical understanding of visual arts processes and materials

  • A commitment to maintaining safe and efficient workspaces

  • The ability to build positive relationships with staff and students
