Discovering Construction Careers through the Try-A-Trade Program

Our Lady of Mercy College promotes the opportunity for our students to explore real-world and industry-based learning experiences. Thanks to the team at SkillHire Bunbury and the Construction Training Fund, our students attended a three-day Try-A-Trade event to learn more about carpentry and bricklaying.

Students loved getting hands-on with trade skills and enjoyed being in a dynamic learning environment that kept them active and engaged in problem-solving.

This opportunity also introduced them to the Construction Careers Scholarship Program, available for Year 11 and 12 students to take their first step towards a career in construction.

Year 10 and 11 students can apply to study Pre-Apprenticeship courses whilst studying at the College in 2026.

For more information on the Construction Careers Scholarship Program, please contact the Career Services Team or complete the Expression of Interest form below: https://www.constructionfutures.com.au/expression-of-interest.
