College Captains Host a Virtual College Assembly

This week, students gathered in their Pastoral Care Groups for a virtual College Assembly. Principal, Mr Crothers, and our College Captains looked back at what has been a rather uncertain start to the year and a very busy but productive Term 1.

Mr Crothers congratulated the students; “School hasn’t been normal this term, but you have embraced it and tried to make the best of it. Well done, and thank you for your efforts!”

Ethan and Amberley thanked the students for showing the Mercy Value of Respect by wearing their masks correctly during school time. They also thanked the students and families who have supported the ‘Containers for Change’ initiative. The money raised has assisted with purchasing bins and disposal stations, an initiative of the College Justice Committee.

This committee has also created various volunteering opportunities for students this term, such as Breakfast Club, canteen assistance, gardening and litter collection. These activities have provided students with various Christian Service-Learning hours, a chance to demonstrate compassion and assist others at our school.

Finally, Ethan and Amberley took the opportunity to encourage the students to come forward and share innovative ideas with them and other members of the Student Leadership Team.
