Celebrating Our Mercy Spirit: College Feast Day 2026

This year we will celebrate College Feast Day on Friday, 11 September 2026.

Feast Day is an opportunity for staff and students to honour our Catholicity and Mercy charism through liturgy, fundraising and performance.

A highlight of the day is the Mercy Markets, where funds raised support the charities we partner with, including Mercy Works, Catholic Mission and caritas.

The schedule for the day is as follows:

8:30 – Recess

• House based activities in Pastoral Care Groups

• Whole College Liturgy of the Word

Recess – Lunch

• Sausage sizzle provided by P&F

• Mercy Markets, organised by Pastoral Care Groups

  Each PCG is responsible for coordinating a stall for the Markets, which will sell snack food, drinks or provide an activity. Communication regarding this has been sent to families by PCG teachers

• Students have a set amount of time to purchase items from the markets. All money raised will be donated to one of the following charities; Caritas Australia, MercyWorks, CatholicCare, Catholic Mission and a local charity

Lunch – 3:00pm

• College concert

• Students who are able to sing, play a musical instrument or dance are provided with the opportunity to showcase their talents to the College at the afternoon concert. Ms Kaitani - Music teacher, has called for nominations. It is always an event enjoyed by all.

Although the activities during the day are different to a usual school day, students are expected to attend and to participate in all activities. Students will be awarded a House point for community.

Purchasing of Tokens

A token system is used to limit the handling of money on Feast Day. Students will use tokens to purchase items at the Mercy Markets and participate in activities during the day.

Tokens need to be purchased prior to Feast Day in either $5.00 or $10.00 bags which will then be distributed to them during PCG on Feast Day.

Tokens can be purchased through CDF Pay from Tuesday 1 September 2026 till close of business, Wednesday 9 September 2026.

Cash purchases of tokens can also be made during PCG (7:30 am to 8:25 am) in the Learning Commons from Thursday 3 September 2026 to Wednesday 9 September 2026.

Sausage Sizzle Lunch

The P & F are kindly providing a sausage sizzle lunch. Please be aware that the Café will not be open on Feast Day so students will need to bring their own recess and lunch if they prefer not to partake in the sausage sizzle.

Uniform

Students are required to wear their full PE uniform with their House shirt.

Students are expected to demonstrate our College expectations throughout each session by making positive behaviour choices, keeping electronic devices off and away, and meeting College expectations for jewellery and presentation. Meeting these expectations will support students to participate successfully in this and future sessions.
