Celebrating Community: A Successful Wine & Cheese Night at Mercy

On Tuesday, 13 May, a beautiful evening in the College courtyard, we held our very first Mercy Community Wine & Cheese Night.

Parents, carers and staff came together to enjoy a relaxed evening of conversation, laughter and local flavours.

A highlight of the night was the Halls Family Dairy cheese—especially the much-loved Fifi and Suzette artisan cheeses, generously donated by the future Hall family. Made from the milk of French Normande cows, these cheeses were a true gourmet experience and sparked plenty of conversation!

The evening also featured a “Passion Project” spotlight, where several brave and enthusiastic parents shared insights into their businesses and community initiatives:

  • Matthew from the Anchormen Choir

  • Laurens from Judobank

  • David from Retravision Harvey

  • Addy from the local Parkrun

  • Shane from the Leschenault Pavilion (who also kindly donated a $50 voucher for our door prize raffle)

A special thank you goes to David from Retravision, who not only shared his business but also announced a fantastic initiative—Retravision Harvey will donate 1% of all sales from Mercy families back to the College. All families have to do is mention OLMC at the point of sale. David, who is also Chair of our School Advisory Council, continues to show his deep commitment to our community.

It was great to see so many friendly faces connect over shared stories and start building stronger ties within our Mercy family.

We’re already looking forward to the next opportunity to come together.

Thank you to everyone who made the evening a success.
