This past week, Week 4, Term 2, Our Lady of Mercy College celebrated Careers Week with a range of engaging events designed to inspire students to explore future study and career pathways.
Support for Regional Medicine Students
Students interested in Medicine attended an informative session presented by the Rural Clinical School of WA, learning about the application process, pathways into Medicine, and support available through our local representative, Emma Cooper.
Emma has supported many Mercy alumni through the application process and their transition to university life. She continues to regularly connect with and support students throughout their studies.

Virtual Expo
Families were invited to participate in the Choosing Your Uni National Virtual Expo, featuring over 80 live and recorded sessions to help students explore tertiary study options across Australia.
Code Cracking with Murdoch University
We welcomed Murdoch University for two interactive workshops:
Code Cracking – students explored historical and modern cryptography techniques, decoded Roman messages, analysed ciphers, and strengthened their problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Let’s Get Coding – an exciting hands-on introduction to robotics programming using Spheros, where students developed computational thinking skills through coding challenges.
St Thomas 'Tommy' More
On Friday, we welcomed the Director of St Thomas More Residential College, located opposite The University of Western Australia. Students learnt about the supportive residential community, pastoral care, clubs and opportunities available to students studying away from home.
It was wonderful to see our students thinking about their futures, exploring new opportunities and beginning conversations about life beyond school. The Careers Team looks forward to continuing to support our students as they prepare for their next steps in study, training and employment.
