Bringing Everyone Together with Damper and Stories

As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, our First Nations students welcomed Elder Nana Val for a special cultural experience. Together, they prepared traditional damper, learning the recipe and the stories and significance behind it.

Nan Val is passionate about passing on stories and traditions to the next generation, which perfectly reflects this year’s NAIDOC Week theme: The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy.

This theme honours the achievements of our ancestors while recognising the strength of today’s young leaders. It highlights the importance of passing down the legacy through generations to inspire us all to build a brighter future together.

Families and staff shared and enjoyed the freshly baked damper during morning tea.
