The Career Services Department recently received an email from Cici Zhang, a Class of 2022 graduate, updating us on her career journey with the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
"Good morning,
It's Cici. I hope this email finds you well.
As promised, I will send you some pictures of me during my New Sailor Entry Course (NSEC). I loved every part of the Navy. The training was challenging, but it helped me bond with my division mates and realise that I could push myself much more than I could think of. I am currently doing my Initial Employment Training (IET) Chef course. It is hard work but also rewarding, and I plan to go to Sydney in July for my next post. I appreciate how much the Career Services Team and all the rest of the Mercy staff helped with my application into the Navy, and I hope to see more people from Our lady of Mercy College join the ADF in the future. Thank you :)

During her time at Our Lady of Mercy College, Cici worked with the Career Services Team to plan her future career with the Australian Defence Force.
She attended Defence Force Careers presentations at the College during Years 10 and 12. The Defence Force Careers team assisted Cici in attending a Royal Australian Navy careers day at HMAS STIRLING. Cici spent the day at STIRLING learning about different types of careers with the Navy. She learnt about military service requirements and the training required to succeed as a member of the Defence Force. After visiting HMAS STIRLING, Cici was certain she wanted to pursue a hospitality role in the Navy.
Cici participated in the College Workplace Learning program during her upper school years and attended hospitality placements in Bunbury, including a placement with Café Bean. The Career Services Team assisted Cici with her application to join the Royal Australian Navy.
It is incredibly exciting to see how much Cici is enjoying her career and how she has progressed with her Initial Sailor Entry Training course at HMAS CERBERUS. We wish her all the best for her future career.
