Today, we celebrate a true Mercy legend, Mr Dale Briers, who is concluding six incredible years of shaping futures at Our Lady of Mercy College.
Dale has supported countless young people in discovering their purpose. During his time at the College, he has:
Guided more than 700 careers meetings with students and families
Shared his trades expertise to support hands-on pathways
Helped students secure apprenticeships, traineeships, training offers and university placements
Strengthened partnerships with local industry
Delivered almost 100 career events, excursions and real-world learning experiences
Before joining the College, Dale served 22 years in the Royal Australian Navy from 1983 to 2005 and later brought his extensive trades knowledge into education, working in both Design and Technology and Careers.
His impact is written into the stories of hundreds of Mercy graduates. Dale has always been the first to celebrate a student’s success, whether it was positive feedback from an employer, acceptance into further training, a university offer, an apprenticeship, or the moment a student discovered excitement about a new pathway. His deep care and passion for student achievement will be remembered by students, staff and families alike.
