Year 9 Electives

Marine Science

Course Description

The Marine Science elective could offer students an exciting opportunity to dive into the wonders of Western Australia's coastal ecosystems through hands-on activities and field excursions. Students will take part in beach-based ecological monitoring, investigating species like hermit crabs and small fish, while learning to collect and analyse environmental data. In the classroom, students explore marine animal anatomy through fish dissections, build models of ocean currents, and even design mini marine habitats. This elective will inspire a deep appreciation for marine life and empower students to become stewards of our oceans through science, exploration, and discovery.
