Year 10 Electives

Course Description

This course explores how the body uses energy from carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, and the role of nutrition in preventing chronic disease. Students investigate factors affecting energy balance, examine conditions linked to overnutrition, and explore alternative nutrition sources such as supplements, sports foods, and superfoods. A strong focus is placed on developing the skills to critically assess health information, spot scams, and evaluate the reliability of claims made on social media.
