In Week 6, our Year 9s stepped away from the classroom for their retreat. At the HBL Football Club, the Youth Mission Team led sessions on respectful relationships, helping students reflect on how they treat others, the impact they have and how Christ is present in their lives.
Over at the Leschenault Sporting Pavilion, the focus turned to personal strengths. Students got hands-on and creative, choosing to design posters, perform skits or even write raps. They explored how their unique character strengths can help them in meaningful ways.
Student reflections capture the impact of the day:
"Year 9 Retreat really helped me understand the strengths and values of both me and my peers. I learnt how individual strengths can influence others in both positive and negative ways."— Alexis
"The Year 9 Retreat was one of my favourite retreats I have attended. I learnt more about character strengths and what they mean. I also gained a clear understanding of one of the Youth Mission’s presenters’ life that was very touching for our year group. It was a memorable time, not only fun, but also a confronting retreat that I continue to reflect on afterwards."— Jazz
