Year 8 students recently stepped out of the classroom to participate in a range of activities relating to either character strengths or caring for God's creation.

Students in Hayes, McAuley and Read remained on campus and completed activities which focussed on developing a deeper understanding of character strengths and how these can be used to make positive behaviour choices.

Students in Champagnat, Costello and Frayne were split according to PCG numbers.

Half of the students spent the day at the Leschenault Native Plant Nursery, learning about plants that are local to Western Australia. They took part in potting, weeding and trimming native plants to prepare them for sale.

The other half visited the Harvey Dam, where they engaged in a variety of activities centred on caring for the local environment. They experienced a smoking ceremony, went on a scavenger hunt, collected rubbish, assisted with the removal of Italian buckthorn and monitored mussels and water bugs in the Dam.
