Workplace Learning Provides Transition to Full-time Apprenticeship for Xavier Torrisi

Xavier Torrisi (Year 10) has been in the College Workplace Learning Program since the start of the year with a focused career goal in Heavy Diesel Mechanics.

Xavier requested a placement at Harvey Farm Service in February, who were willing to host him in the workshop for one day a week. Xavier then accessed the Year 10 Work Experience block week to attend consecutive days under host Supervisor Stefan Ieraci, where he continued to learn and assist with automotive servicing and repair.

At the start of Term 3, Xavier approached the College for support to gain further experience in the industry and commenced a second placement with Bunbury Diesel Service. Xavier has been attending both workplaces this term, enabling him to demonstrate his enjoyment of practical and technical related learning opportunities in the industry.

In recognition of his commitment and dedication to the trade, Xavier has been offered a full-time employment opportunity with Harvey Farm Service as a First Year Apprentice in Heavy Automotive. Xavier is proud of his newly acquired tool chest and explained his role in assisting with pre-delivery once over inspections of new machinery, among other tasks.

Congratulations Xavier! The College is blessed and excited to have followed your journey as you move towards acquiring a nationally recognised trade qualification in your chosen field. We wish you the very best for the future.
