Students Embark on Hands-On Bricklaying and Carpentry Experience Through SkillHire

In week 7 of this term, 16 students from Years 9 and 10 participated in a three-day Bricklaying and Carpentry Try a Trade program through SkillHire. This event was held at the well-equipped training facility of Bunbury Regional Trade Training Centre, located on the Eaton Community College site.

The students were guided by experienced lecturers Greg and Ryan. Over the 3-day event, the students had the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning by creating brick arches, fire pits, and small wooden tables. This immersive experience not only enhanced their practical skills in bricklaying and carpentry but also opened doors to promising future career paths in the Building and Construction industry.

Students in Years 11 and 12 can study a range of Building and Construction courses. These courses are provided by Bunbury Regional Trade Training Centre and South Regional TAFE. For more information, please contact Ms Chloe Gunson from our Career Services Team.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Justine Wright and the amazing team at SkillHire for their hard work in offering our students with such a wonderful opportunity.
