We are currently inviting applications for the role of RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHER

Our Lady of Mercy College is a Catholic co-educational College in the coastal town of Australind.  Inspired by the charism of the Mercy Sisters, the College provides educational opportunities that inspire learning, nurture faith and encourage students to embrace life. We invite applications from committed, passionate and innovative teachers to join our Religious Education team. We seek individuals who are comfortable and confident in sharing their Catholic faith. Ideally, their teaching approach will invite and challenge the development of our students’ spirituality within the context of our contemporary and ever-changing world.

 

The successful applicant for this position will be an enthusiastic educator who is keen to be part of a strong professional team. Ideally, they will be able to teach Religious Education in Years 7–10 and Upper School classes depending upon experience. Capable and confident graduates will be considered and if successful, nurtured and supported during their early development.

Selection Criteria

 

The successful person will have;

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the ethos and values of Catholic education in a Mercy context.

  • A passion and ability to teach Religious Education.

  • A comprehensive knowledge and an understanding of effective pedagogy in the field of Religious Education.

  • Ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff and parents.

  • Highly developed ICT skills.

  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Experience in ATAR level Religious Education would be advantageous.

Qualifications Required

  • Current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA)

  • Western Australia Department of Education National Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)

  • Working with Children Screen Check

  • Have completed, working towards, or be willing to work towards, 'Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School'. Additional information can be found here: CEWA Limited Accreditation Framework
