Our Lady of Mercy College Australind is a nurturing co-educational secondary College for students from Year 7 to Year 12.
Our Lady of Mercy College is a new and vibrant College, located in Australind which is locally referred to as an aquatic paradise. Surrounded by water with the Brunswick and Collie Rivers to the east and south and the Leschenault Estuary to the west, it's a great place for boating, sailing, windsurfing, fishing and raising a family. Just 11 kilometres north of Bunbury, you can reach Perth in one and a half hours along the Forrest Highway, making Australind an ideal sea change location.

The College invites applications for the role of Property Services/Grounds person. The position is part time (0.8 full time equivalent) and is currently structured as four full days per week.
This role involves presenting and maintaining the grounds of the College by mowing, edging and line marking the ovals, maintaining and operating reticulation, weeding, pruning and mulching of gardens on the property. In addition, the role will include property maintenance tasks such as lighting, plumbing, repair leaks/damage, high pressure cleaning, graffiti removal, wall repairs and painting and repairing student lockers as required. Some of these tasks are undertaken in consultation with external providers.
We are looking for a highly organised individual, who has the ability to occasionally assist the Property Service Team with coordination of external contractors, event preparation, maintain the College bus and arrange servicing of major equipment when required at the College.
This position commences mid-January 2021.
Essential Selection Criteria
The successful person will have;
A Catholic background or the ability to demonstrate empathy with the Catholic ethos of the College
Trade related training or extensive related workplace experience
Well-developed knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and/or construction industry
Knowledge of machine and tool maintenance associated with Property Services
Confidence in the use of essential computer software/hardware
Willingness to learn to operate new machines and to adapt to using new technology
High level organisation and planning skills
Flexible and adaptable approach to work
Ability to show initiative within a team context
Desirable Selection Criteria
Willingness to act in a leadership capacity from time to time
Knowledge of landscaping/horticulture
Western Australia Department of Education National Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
Working with Children Screen Check
Have completed, working towards, or be willing to work towards completing to CEWA Accreditation requirements. Additional information can be found here: CEWA Limited Accreditation Framework
Part time, four days per week 8.00am – 4.00pm (specific days are negotiable).
0.8 FTE (48 weeks per year).
Some afterhours work may be required from time to time.
$53,798 - $58,798 (Full time equivalent)
