Year 12 Students Gather Schoolbags for Jesus

In appreciation for the education they have received over the years, the Year 12 cohort assisted the Christ the Living Vine Parish in gathering Schoolbags for Jesus.

The Schoolbags for Jesus project aims to enable orphans and street children in the Philippines to receive education and break the cycle of poverty. The organisation’s mission is “We believe in not just providing the fish, but teaching the poor how to fish.” Education is the surest way to empower children and also raise their families from the bondage of poverty.

The Filipino children are provided with a school bag containing basic school essentials such as pens, pencils, exercise books, a cap or shirt.

A special mention goes to Zakary and Zaviar Sutherland for donating enough items to fill ten bags, plus some spare items for other incomplete bags.
