Staffing Update
As some of you may be aware, we will be bidding farewell to several of our valued teachers at the end of this term.
We thank Mr Paul Grebe for his significant contribution to the College and wish him all the best in his new role at Bunbury Catholic College. Mrs Courtney English is expecting her first child and will take maternity leave. We look froward to seeing pictures of her baby next term! Miss Amy Ralph has relocated back to Perth and Ms Brooke Cuthbertson will resume her Aboriginal Liaison Officer role at our College, after stepping in to support the Science staff. I thank each of the staff members for their dedicated effort and contribution to the College.
It is a pleasure to welcome a number of new staff to the College or to new roles. The Science Department is excited to welcome Mrs Joanne Ball and Mr Tanvir Bhuiyan. Miss Tiffany Drage has commenced as Head of Year 9 (Maternity Leave Replacement) and Miss Claire Nicholson has commenced in the Humanities Department. The English Department welcomes Mrs Danielle Cain, an experienced English teacher, who is relocating back to Western Australia.
As a result of these staffing changes, several timetable revisions will need to be made and a number of students will return with new teachers for certain courses. New Semester 2 timetables will be uploaded during the holiday break.
I am pleased to advise that the impact of COVID upon staff has improved significantly over the last several weeks. Hopefully this will continue to be the case for Term 3.
Term 3
In Term 3 we look forward to the feeling of getting back to 'normal', especially embracing events and activities such as Father’s Day, Feast Day, the Year 12 Ball and Graduation to name a few.
At the recent College assembly, I affirmed the students for their efforts and resilience during this challenging semester. I spoke about the need for a break from usual routines and the importance of resetting our focus and expectations. It is hoped that Semester 2 will be more settled and enable all students to be fully engaged in their studies allowing them to produce their best effort.
I am thrilled to advise that Mr Russell Manchip and Mr Jez Obern are looking forward to welcoming a new child into their families during the July school holidays. We are excited for them and look forward to sharing in their joy.
I wish all, a safe and happy school holiday and hope you are able to take some time to rest, reflect and reset.
Regards,
Rob Crothers
Principal
