We are currently inviting applications for the role of PERFORMING ARTS TEACHER

We invite applications from creative, inspirational, hardworking, and dedicated teachers to join our small and passionate Arts team. Applicants should be willing to contribute to the life of the school beyond the immediate classroom role. We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate initiative, flexibility, possess excellent interpersonal skills and are able to work collaboratively with other staff.


The successful applicant for this position will be an enthusiastic and organised educator who is keen to be part of a strong professional team. They should be committed to promoting and inspiring students to peruse their interests in Arts.  Ideally, they will be able to teach Performing Arts in Years 7–10 and Upper School classes including ATAR and General classes depending upon experience. Capable and confident graduates will be considered and if successful, nurtured and supported during their early development.

Selection Criteria



  • Knowledge of and commitment to the ethos and values of Catholic education in a Mercy context.

  • Knowledge of and experience in applying the AITSL teaching standards in their professional practice within their teaching context and expertise.   

  • A passion and ability to teach Performing Arts.

  • A comprehensive knowledge and an understanding of effective pedagogy in the field of Performing Arts.

  • Ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff and parents.

  • Highly developed ICT skills.

  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.


  • Experience in ATAR level Performing Arts would be advantageous.

Qualifications Required

  • Current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA)

  • Western Australia Department of Education National Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)

  • Working with Children Screen Check

  • Have completed, working towards, or be willing to work towards, 'Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School'. Additional information can be found here: CEWA Limited Accreditation Framework
