MINISTRY AND EVENTS ASSISTANT
(Part-Time, 1-Year Maternity Leave Replacement)

Our Lady of Mercy College Australind is a nurturing co-educational secondary College for students from Year 7 to Year 12.
​

This position is an essential point of contact for the school and contributes to the smooth operation of the Ministry Office.
​
The position requires a person with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. Experience in a similar work environment would be considered favourably.
This position commences early in Term 4 - negotiable.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The role may include;
-
Working closely with the Director of Ministry, Head of Religious Education and Aboriginal Education Officer.

Answering incoming telephone calls in a warm and friendly manner and forwarding them to appropriate personnel
-
Maintaining the Office
-
Organising student rosters
-
Assisting with recording student participation in events
-
Ordering resources and stationery supplies
-
Assisting with the organisation of community events (Graduations, Retreats, Parent Days, etc.)
-
Preparing for liturgical events
-
Other administration duties as required by the Executive

Essential Selection Criteria
​
The successful person will have the following;

A Catholic background or the ability to demonstrate empathy with the Catholic ethos of the College

Professional written and oral communication skills
-
High-level organisational, administrative and customer service skills
-
Demonstrated experience in record-keeping and document control
-
Well-developed skills using Microsoft Office 365 products
-
Ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information
-
Excellent data entry skills with an emphasis on speed and accuracy
-
Flexible and adaptable approach to work
-
Ability to show initiative and take direction within a team context

Desirable Selection Criteria
​
-
In-depth knowledge of school administration systems such as SEQTA
-
Demonstrated experience in an educational context
​
Qualifications Required

Current First Aid Certificate (to be obtained if not held)

National Criminal Record Check

Working with Children Screen Check
-

Hours
Two days per school week, 8.00 am – 4.00 pm.
41 weeks per year, including one week prior to the commencement of the school year.
Some after-hours work may be required from time to time.
Salary Package
Level 3, Step 1 $60,688 (Full-time equivalent)
Award: Administrative and Technical Officers EBA
