Our Lady of Mercy College Australind is a nurturing co-educational secondary College for students from Year 7 to Year 12.
Our Lady of Mercy College is a new and vibrant College, located in Australind which is locally referred to as an aquatic paradise. The College invites applications for the role of Health & Physical Education Assistant. This role will be a tenure contract position of two years from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2022.
The Health & Physical Education Assistant provides administrative and general support to the Health and Physical Education Department. They assist with communication and the accurate and timely flow of information to students, parents and staff.
They are responsible for assisting the Head of Health & Physical Education and the Sport Coordinator with the smooth running of this busy department as well as assisting in the efficient coordination of annual and one-off sporting events. In addition, this role accompanies teachers on activities where ratio numbers require additional staff to comply with safety regulations eg. mountain biking, sea kayaking, snorkelling and body boarding.
We are looking for a highly organised, energetic individual, who has the ability to work in a variety of outdoor contexts. The successful applicant will be a highly effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skill and has the ability to engage with colleagues, students and parents.
This position commences mid-January 2021.
Essential Selection Criteria
The successful person will have;
A Catholic background or the ability to demonstrate empathy with the Catholic ethos of the College
Current First Aid Certificate
MR/HR Licence to drive the College bus
High level organisation and planning skills
Friendly, well presented and team orientated
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills
Physically able and capable of working in a variety of outdoor contexts
Desirable Selection Criteria
Demonstrated experience in an educational context
Well-developed computer skills
In-depth knowledge of school administration systems such as Maze and SEQTA
Western Australia Department of Education National Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
Working with Children Screen Check
Have completed, working towards, or be willing to work towards completing to CEWA Accreditation requirements. Additional information can be found here: CEWA Limited Accreditation Framework
Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 3.30pm (negotiable).
41 weeks per year, commencing in January 2021 and during school terms only.
Some afterhours work may be required from time to time.
$44,433 - $51,802 (Full time equivalent)
Award: Administrative and Technical Officers EBA
