We are currently inviting applications for the role of HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER

An exciting opportunity exists for a caring and committed staff member to join our passionate Health and Physical Education team. We seek motivated and enthusiastic professionals who look to inspire young people and their interest in health and physical activity. The successful applicant will have relevant knowledge of current curriculum requirements, significant experience in the provision of high-quality educational programs as well as a commitment to extra-curricular activities.

 

The successful applicant for this position will be an enthusiastic educator who is keen to be part of a strong professional team. Ideally, they will be able to teach Health and Physical Education in Years 7–10 and Upper School classes depending upon experience. Capable and confident graduates will be considered and if successful, nurtured and supported during their early development.

 

Selection Criteria

 

Essential;

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the ethos and values of Catholic education in a Mercy context.

  • Knowledge of and experience in applying the AITSL teaching standards in their professional practice within their teaching context and expertise.   

  • A passion and ability to teach Health and PE.

  • A comprehensive knowledge and an understanding of effective pedagogy in the field of Health and PE.

  • Ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff and parents.

  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Current First Aid Certificate

  • MR/HR Licence to drive the College bus or willingness to obtain

  • High level organisation and planning skills

  • Friendly, well presented and team orientated

  • Physically able and capable of working in a variety of outdoor contexts

Desirable;

  • Demonstrated experience in an educational context

  • Bronze Medallion

  • Well-developed computer skills

  • Experience in ATAR level Health and PE

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision

Qualifications Required

  • Western Australia Department of Education National Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)

  • Working with Children Screen Check

  • Drivers Licence
