We invite applications from committed, passionate and innovative teachers to join our Wellbeing Leadership team as a Head of Year. We seek individuals who are comfortable and confident in sharing their Catholic faith and who are experienced and accomplished classroom practitioners.
The Head of Year provides leadership, direction and support to students, their parents/guardians and staff identified with a designated year group at the College.
The successful person will have;
A commitment to the ethos, values and mission of Catholic education.
Demonstrated successful experience working with adults and young people in a pastoral care, wellbeing, mental health or related field.
Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships.
Confidence in speaking and presenting to large audiences.
Experienced classroom practitioner.
Well-developed written and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of key factors impacting mental health and wellbeing.
Knowledge of successful strategies used to assist young people to maintain their mental health and wellbeing.
Ability to implement and lead the wellbeing programs and initiatives.
An allowance of 5 – 12 teaching periods adjusted to reflect cohort size.
Category 2 – Level 1
Responsibility Allowance: $13,881.00 per annum
This position is offered for an initial period of 3 years. Prior to the end of the 3rd year, your performance in this leadership position will be reviewed and assessed. A further term of 3 years appointment for this position may be offered, conditional upon the outcome of this review.
A teacher who accepts this position, is employed as a teacher in an ongoing capacity at the College.
Current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA)
Western Australia Department of Education National Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
Working with Children Screen Check
Have completed, working towards, or be willing to work towards, 'Accreditation for Middle Leaders in a Catholic School'. Additional information can be found here: CEWA Limited Accreditation Framework
