We are currently inviting applications for the role of ENGLISH TEACHER

Our Lady of Mercy College is a Catholic co-educational College in the coastal town of Australind. Recognising the importance of sound literacy skills in the lives of our students, the English Learning Area strives to develop and enhance student skills and knowledge. We support their goal to become competent, confident and engaged users of English in everyday, community, social, further education, training and workplace contexts.
The successful applicant for this position will be an enthusiastic educator who is keen to be part of a strong professional team. Ideally, they will be able to teach English in Years 7–12. Capable and confident graduates will be considered and if successful, nurtured and supported during their early development.
Selection Criteria
The successful person will have;

Knowledge of and commitment to the ethos and values of Catholic education in a Mercy context.

A passion and ability to teach English.

A comprehensive knowledge and an understanding of effective pedagogy in the field of English.

Ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff and parents.

Highly developed ICT skills.
-
Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.
-
Experience in ATAR English and Literature would be advantageous.

Ability to teach Religious Education would be an advantage.

Qualifications Required

Current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA)

Working with Children Screen Check

Have completed, working towards, or be willing to work towards, 'Accreditation for Teachers in a Catholic School'. Additional information can be found here: CEWA Limited Accreditation Framework
