Education Assistant - Ongoing
Our Lady of Mercy College Australind is a nurturing co-educational secondary College for students from Year 7 to Year 12.
​

At Our Lady of Mercy College an Education Assistant supports teachers as they nurture each student to discover and develop their interests and talents in order to reach their fullest potential. They provide appropriate support to staff, students and families of all students, particularly those with additional needs. They actively participate in all aspects of College life and live out the Mercy values of Compassion, Justice, Respect, Hospitality, Service and Courage, on a daily basis.

Key Areas of Responsibility
​
The role may include:

Be organised and prepared to present subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of teachers

Build positive relationships with teachers, students and families
-
Promote the ethos and mission of The College
-
Give assistance to allocated student or group in the class as requested, including those students with physical impairments or high-need personal care requirements.

Promote student well-being and engage in safe practice to ensure student safety
-
Complete administrative duties relevant to the job role as determined by the Head of Learning Support and Management Team

Qualifications Required
​
-
Nationally recognised CHC30221 Certificate III in School-Based Education Support and/or the CHC40221 Certificate IV in School-Based Education Support or equivalent
-
Current First Aid Certificate (to be obtained if not held)

Working with Children Screen Check
-
Western Australia Department of Education National Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
-
Have completed, working towards, or be willing to work towards completing CEWA Accreditation requirements. Additional information can be found here: CEWA Limited Accreditation Framework.

Hours
Monday to Friday, 8.15am – 3.15pm.
40 weeks per year during the school term.
Some after-hours work may be required from time to time.
​
Salary Package
$54,098 – $61,089 (1 Full-time equivalent)
Award: Teachers' Aides and Teaching Assistants EBA
