Our Lady of Mercy College Australind is a nurturing co-educational secondary College for students from Year 7 to Year 12.

The Administration Assistant is an important point of contact for the Careers/VET Department and contributes to the smooth operation by providing essential support to the Head of Learning Area. This position also provides crucial services to the students, parents and staff of our school.

Tasks may include but are not limited to management of student work placements, communicating with businesses, coordinating enrolments to internal and external certificate courses, reporting to School Curriculum and Standards Authority and any additional tasks assigned by the Head of Learning Area.

The position requires a person with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.  Experience in a similar work environment would be considered favourably.

This position commences in January 2023, prior to the commencement of Term 1.

 

Selection Criteria


The successful person will have:

  • A Catholic background or the ability to demonstrate empathy with the Catholic ethos of the College

  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a similar role

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills

  • High-level organisational, administrative and customer service skills

  • Demonstrated experience in client relationship management experience with external stakeholders

  • Well-developed skills using Microsoft Office 365 products

  • Ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information

  • Excellent data entry skills with an emphasis on speed and accuracy

  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work

  • Ability to show initiative and take direction within a team context


Desirable Selection Criteria

  • In-depth knowledge of school administration systems such as SEQTA or AoS

  • Demonstrated experience in SCSA VET data and reporting

  • Demonstrated experience in an educational context

Requirements

  • National Criminal Record Check

  • Have completed, working towards, or be willing to work towards, 'Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School'. Additional information can be found here: CEWA Limited Accreditation Framework


Hours
Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 4.00pm.
44 Weeks per year, including 1 week during each school holiday break
Some after-hours work may be required from time to time.


Salary Package
Level 3 $60,688 – $67,147 (Full time equivalent)


Award: Administrative and Technical Officers EBA
